Navigation is of the utmost importance when it comes to keeping visitors on your site. Several questions to ask yourself (or your web designer) are:

  • Are navigation bars or tabs easy to see, and do they contrast well enough from the rest of the content? Don’t camouflage your navigation bar. Let it stand apart so it draws the eye.

  • Are links big enough, highlighted, or in an image form so the visitor knows where to click? Links may simply be ‘anchored’ text with a link attached, or a graphic ‘button’ that is an obvious click link.

  • Are there links to other portions of the website within written content? For instance, when a visitor reads a blog post, they can learn additional information about a product you mention if it is linked to its web page.

Do You Post Enriched Content?

A webpage can be just a big online billboard. However, if you enrich your website with new, informative, and helpful content, you can generate more visitors from the search engines, as well s enjoy repeat readers.

Do You Review your Links Regularly?

Updating content on a regular basis can cause broken links to appear on your site. Be sure to regularly run a check on all your links to ensure they are accurate and updated. No one likes to visit a website if they can’t get to the web page they need.
