Tips for Creating a Powerful Brochure

Tips for Creating a Powerful Brochure

Why does your small business need a brochure? I'm of the mindset that even the smallest business needs at least one. A sales letter to a client may disclose a relatively small amount of information, and clients are usually swamped with loads of letters, that they may look at briefly (if at all).

A one-on-one meeting is usually the best way to tell a potential client about your business, but that may not always be possible with just a phone call or a letter. This is where a brochure comes into play. A brochure is a great way to reveal information about yourself and your business.

In order to create a powerful brochure, you should take the needs of your potential customers into consideration. Here's my tip list for creating a powerful brochure that works!

  • Add a personal touch. The theme, colors and fonts are a few of the factors that decide how if your brochure will attract readers' attention. But that doesn't mean you should go overboard. The colors and font should work with your brochure's content, not overpower its message.
  • Grab readers' attention. The content of your brochure should be easy to read and understand. The bottom line is that the brochure should contain the key points about your business, as briefly as possible. Don't reveal everything about your business in the brochure – give your customers a reason to contact you in future.
  • Give it a professional look. Use a professional company to create the brochure. Nothing puts off potential customers more than hastily put together or cheap looking collateral.
  • Make yourself available. End your brochure with your contact information — including business and website address, along with phone number.
  • By paying close attention to the details, you can create a brochure that truly caters to your client's needs.
